Newsletter #9 ------ Maintain a healthy blood pressure

 

Healthy blood pressure can be maintained with natural regimen.

Since prescription drugs that lower blood pressure do have side effects - some of them risky and unpleasant - it is important to always begin with natural methods. If you are taking drugs for high blood pressure, your health care provider should be monitoring you regularly and should have a goal of getting you off the medication if possible. If you are already taking drugs to lower blood pressure, it is important not to take herbs that directly lower blood pressure such as hawthorn, without checking with your health care provider. Your blood pressure should be monitored while making the necessary reduction in your medication.

 

NATURAL PROTOCAL FOR MAINTAINING A HEALTHY BLOOD PRESSURE

The Principles for Optimal Health are your foundation for maintaining a healthy blood pressure. It is especially important to keep your antioxidant levels high, to eat plenty of fiber-filled vegetables and whole grains and to drink plenty of water.

Add Vitamins, herbs and supplements if necessary to maintain a healthy blood pressure (Below 140 systolic and below 90 diastolic. Ideal BP being 120/80). Multivitamin with antioxidant such as Clinical Nutrients for Men or Clinical Nutrients For Women daily, Buffered Vitamin C total 3,000 mg/day (Reduced to 500mg/day for people with history of Kidney stone). Vitamin E 400 IU daily (800 IU total if you are over 45 years of age), Coenzyme q-10 (co-q-10) 200 - 300 mg daily. L-carnitine up to 1,500 mg/day in three doses. Magnesium, 1000 - 1500mg/day in 2-3 doses. Calcium 1000 - 1500mg/day in 2 doses. Omega 3 (Fish Oil) 2000 - 4000mg/day. Hawthorn Extract 300 -400mg/day. Eat fresh garlic or take the Odorless Garlic pill daily. Ginkgo Biloba, Grape seed extract, and Green tea extract help improving blood flow to the brain and the extremities.

 

Supervision by your physician is essential. Monitor your BP three times a day.

If you have severe hypertension with BP consistently over 180/115, you need immediate medical attention.
